| Yogurt drops |
[Dec. 23rd, 2009|04:38 pm] |
I just bought some yogurt drops for my hamster but now I just realized they are yogurt drops for RABBITS:

Darn. I don't know how I didn't notice at the store. They had all the supplies mixed up. Can I still give my hamster these yogurt drops? Is it safe?
ETA The only visible difference I can see is that the one for rabbits has a bit more protein and fat. |

I noticed today that Victor's nails are really long. and i went to trim them and he is just too fuss with me to let me do it. I have done the sand paper in the wheel and he is just too smart as he rips it right out. and then hops into the wheel and runs like "ha! Ha!" so any other ideas on how i can trim Victor's nails? |

Hi hamster fans! I have started a pet picture blog about our pets hating us (http://www.youmakemehateyou.com). We need submissions of pets hating their owners! Examples include pets wearing costumes / having her teeth brushed, looking totally unimpressed with us. We only have ONE hamster up so far (in a martini glass, looking annoyed.)
Please submit your pics to the website and we will get them up asap!
Happy holidays :) |

I have a little robo hamster named Henry. Henry had a companion named George, but George is sadly no longer with us :(
I was wondering if robo hamsters NEED a companion, or if Henry would adjust to living alone? I have read conflicting things so I thought I'd ask here. Thanks! |

Leela passed away today, the day she was scheduled to be PTS. I guess she knew it was okay to let go. I'm going to miss that little furball so much. |

| New Cages |
[Dec. 15th, 2009|08:13 pm] |
Ok, so I finally had it with Nancy's cage. She had the colorful Habitrail discovery or something... with the huge door on front and a second shelf? Yeah, well the water bottle broke the moment I got the cage a few months ago. It was never a problem until recently. It wouldn't even stay full for more than a day, and it would leak over all of her bedding, soaking the whole cage. And besides the fact that it's unhealthy, carefresh when it is wet smells nasty. So I finally couldn't take it anymore, and I moved Dewey into the even larger bin that I have, and stuck Nancy in his old bin. She is a lot happier with a bigger cage, and it's much brighter for her. I'm just gunna sell the other cage on craigslist without the bottle.
I already had a setup in Dewey's old bin for the waterbottle, but now there isnt one and we're too lazy to do it at 8 oclock... So i just ductaped it on :D |

| wheel |
[Dec. 12th, 2009|08:16 am] |
hey guys!
I'm still having a problem with my wheel for my Roborovskij dwarf hamster. my problem is still: he runs and runs and then suddenly comes to a halt but the wheel does not, so he gehts thrown around in the weel kinda a lot. but he doesn't seem to mind at all, he just starts running again as if nothing has happened. but I get worried whenenver I see him in such a position lol
my question: does anyone know a wheel-brand with which I won't have these problems? what is with these Rodipet wooden wheels do they prevent your dwarf hammy from that?
thank you guys!!! |

follow up question for those of you who have aquarium cages. the lid of pringles' new cage is mesh with really small holes. like this:

i'm worried about her getting enough air since the holes are so small and the glass walls are high. (17.5 inches tall, 3 feet long by 15 inches deep)
is this a valid concern? should I leave the lid off or make a different one? or will she be ok?
Thank you. and sorry i've been posting so much! |

| | Dawn Landes - Dig Me a Hole | ] | And to think... when I first got him this summer he would try to bite my hand for being in his cage. Today he was perfectly happy to sit and munch while I shoved my phone right near him (and he actually came and took a nibble on my phone to see what it was, haha.) I still can't handle him, but I'm really not disappointed. He's come a long way and is SO much friendlier.

| invisalign pricing |
[Dec. 11th, 2009|02:01 pm] |
Hi there. I know this is somewhat subjective depending on the practitioner, but I recently had a consultation for Invisalign where I was told I would need about 12 months of treatment and the cost is $5,000. This includes retainers and whitening at the end. They said they will also need to file my bottom teeth a little which I don't understand since I've already had braces and they didn't have to do that. From what I've read, braces typically cost about 2 to 5 thousand dollars and Invisalign is slightly more expensive. I'm wondering why this treatment is on the upper end of the spectrum I've heard since my understanding is that 12 months is relatively short, or at least not a long time for braces. Do you think this is more expensive than what should be expected? Thanks so much! |
